As part of keeping our senior solar consultants up to speed with the latest changes in the solar industry, they underwent a training day refresher course at the ‘Solar Training Centre’ in Torrensville just outside of Adelaide, South Australia.
Safety in the solar industry
Each solar consultant got the chance to experience what it feels like to be a solar installer and the dangers it potentially presents if rules are not followed. They were harnessed up and via the protection of a safety line they practiced walking on roofs and performed mock installs of solar panels. Having seen what is involved installing panels, our SunEnergy solar consultants have a greater respect and understanding for the installation team which helps them when it comes to an awareness of the role and with virtual panel placements.

Product Knowledge
All our staff members undergo ‘at-work’ training through a modulised curriculum. It is here where they gain their product knowledge. However on the day our staff went into greater detail with their tutor about the different brands, models and inherent features and benefits of each.
Environmental factors of solar
It’s common knowledge that solar as a renewable energy helps the environment by stopping the carbon that would have been produced from fossil fuels entering the atmosphere. On a average a home with a 6.6kw solar system saves an estimated 10.6 tonnes of carbon from being pumped into our environment each year. At the Solar Training Centre in Adelaide they learned in detail the positive effects of solar vs fossil fuels.
Days gone by vs up an coming era
Solar is a rapidly changing industry from a variety of perspectives. Over the years there have been countless product leaps, government incentives, change in feed-in tariffs and more. The SunEnergy team learned the evolution of solar within Australia and South Australia. This helped them grasp a firmer understanding of the industry and it’s roots and how the technology available now and soon, will shape the solar industry once more.
