That 30% figure is the official broad description, not a flat discount for every system. The Clean Energy Regulator explains that support is calculated through small-scale technology certificates, based on usable battery capacity, and the STC factor changes over time. From 1 May 2026, the STC factor changed to 6.8 for May to December 2026, and support also tapers across battery capacity bands.

In simple terms, the rebate can make a battery more achievable, but the value depends on battery size, usable capacity, product eligibility, installation timing and program rules at the time. That is why it is better to confirm your current position before assuming a fixed dollar amount.
