For more than 25 years, Sungrow has been at the forefront of renewable-energy conversion, with over 14 GW+ of energy storage systems deployed globally. With deep expertise in battery chemistry, power electronics, and system integration, Sungrow designs products that withstand demanding conditions while delivering long-term performance.
Sungrow’s residential storage solutions including the SBR high-voltage battery are built on three core principles:
technical reliability, safety through LFP chemistry, and simple integration with modern solar systems.
With extensive global R&D, strict manufacturing standards, and strong Australian support, Sungrow provides one of the most trusted storage platforms on the market.
The Sungrow SBR high-voltage LFP battery range (SBR064 / SBR096 / SBR128 / SBR160 / SBR192 / SBR224 / SBR256) is built from 3.2 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) modules, stacked inside a single tower.
Each additional module increases usable energy while keeping the same high-voltage architecture, 30 A charge/discharge capability and up to 100% usable capacity.
| Model | Usable Energy (kWh) | 3.2 kWh Modules per Tower | Typical Application* |
|---|---|---|---|
| SBR064 | 6.4 kWh | 2 modules | Smaller homes or low evening consumption |
| SBR096 | 9.6 kWh | 3 modules | Small–medium homes with moderate night usage |
| SBR128 | 12.8 kWh | 4 modules | Medium households with regular evening loads |
| SBR160 | 16.0 kWh | 5 modules | Medium–large homes with higher appliance use |
| SBR192 | 19.2 kWh | 6 modules | Larger families with sustained night demand |
| SBR224 | 22.4 kWh | 7 modules | High-usage homes needing deeper coverage |
| SBR256 | 25.6 kWh | 8 modules | Very high-consumption homes or long backup |
In many cases, yes. The Sungrow SBR high-voltage battery can generally meet the requirements of the Australian Government’s Cheaper Home Batteries Program when installed as part of an eligible solar-battery system.
SunEnergy will confirm eligibility at the quoting stage based on the current CHBP rules and will apply any approved subsidy directly to your installation, meaning no rebate forms, no claims process, and no waiting periods.
Power shouldn’t be something you worry about.
With a Sungrow SBR battery, your solar becomes more useful, your nights become more predictable, and your home becomes more resilient without changing how you live.
The SBR range is fully modular, with usable capacity options from 6.4 kWh to 25.6 kWh per unit.
Each module provides 3.2 kWh, and a system can include 2 to 8 modules.
If your energy demand changes over time, additional modules can be added later.
Yes. When paired with a compatible Sungrow hybrid inverter, the SBR battery supports backup/UPS functionality for essential household circuits. This allows key loads such as lighting, refrigeration, communication devices to remain powered during a grid outage.
Compatibility depends on the inverter. The SBR battery must be paired with a Sungrow hybrid inverter or a Sungrow-approved AC retrofit pathway (if applicable).
Your system will need to be assessed to confirm whether your current inverter supports the SBR.
The SBR series comes with a 10-year warranty. The warranty covers performance, usable capacity retention and product reliability when installed and operated in line with Sungrow guidelines.
