Switching to Solar Made Affordable with Government Incentives
The Federal and State Governments in Australia have introduced incentives to help households and small commercial facilities to switch to solar. As per the current rules, here are the incentives you might be eligible for-

Government Incentives
Small-Scale Technology Certificates (STCs)
The Australian Federal Government issues STCs to households and small businesses installing solar systems. You’re offered STCs depending on the capacity of your solar system, location, and installation date. The STCs have a monetary value and can be sold to electricity retailers in the open market.
While the cost of STC depends on the demand and supply, its value is limited to $40. CEC-approved solar retailers like SunEnergy can help you claim your STCs.
Feed-in Tariff (FiT)
If your solar system is connected to the grid, you can send the excess power your system generates to the grid to receive Feed-in Tariff (FiT). Homeowners are paid depending on the kWh (Kilowatt-Hour) of electricity their solar system sends to the grid.
But note that the amount the electricity retailer owes you is received as a credit on the electricity bill. Also, as the FiT can vary between electricity retailers, choose your retailer carefully.
State Incentives
Many Australian states like South Australia, New South Wales, and Victoria also offer additional incentives. You can visit the official website of your State Government to know more about them.
As all the incentives have qualification criteria, partnering with a reliable solar company is essential to take advantage of these schemes. Get in touch with SunEnergy today to know whether you qualify for these incentives.
